The Jeffery Family Tree was
the subject of four typewritten pages prepared by Clarice Ames. Clarice was the daughter of Alta Cathern Lacey and Eulice Ray Jeffery.
Her father, Eulice, was Marion Erbland's (nee Brown) uncle. Clarice died on
1990-09-23. It is believed that the documents were prepared c 1960s. Photocopies
of four pages were in the possession of Marion A. Erbland (nee Brown) and a transcription,
(in Acrobat pdf format) of these four pages is available by clicking
here. The layout of the pdf document mimics the appearance of the
original typewritten document.

Indenture of Apprenticeship
for Stephen Jeffery dated 14th May 1846. This made Stephen
Jeffrey an Apprentice Blacksmith to Richard Harrison of Wateringbury in the
county of Kent, England and includes the signature of his father, Stephen
Jeffrey the elder, agreeing to the terms of the Apprenticeship.
This is a scan of an old photocopy, so the quality is not the best. A transcription
in Adobe Acrobat format is available in order to make the reading easier.
The numbers in brackets [2]
within the transcription indicate illegible words and the number of such words
at that location. The file (406KB) has been laid out to mimic the
appearance of the source document. Stephen Jeffery is enumerated with
Richard Harrison in the 1851 census.
Just before Stephen died in Sunnyside,
Washington in 1904, he gave to his son, Eulice, many important papers. It
is believed that this photocopy came from a photocopy of those papers that
Eulice gave to his niece, Marion Erbland (nee Brown). Marion always called
him "Uncle Eulie".
