"T
B - New Berlin Freshmen, Feb. 21, 1911"
is written on the reverse side of the source photograph. The initials "T B -" stand for Terry Brown, who is in this
image. Terry Brown was
born 6-MAY-1895, which would have made him 15 years of age on this date in
1911. Terry is the boy near the center of the photo, just
below and to the left (facing the picture) of a boy in a dark high-necked sweater. The boy in
the sweater is standing a little distance above
the left shoulder of Terry. Compare Terry in this image
with Terry in the above
photo, taken 7 months later, in August 1911. It appears that he may
be wearing the same suit.

Terry Will Brown, son of Will L Brown and Maude
Jeffrey is shown here at age 21 years. On the back of the source photo is written "Terry 21 Oct 1916". Judging from the background, this photo appears to have
been taken at the Brown home in Jackson Twp., Stark County, Ohio. It was probably just before Terry departed to join the Army, where he was a cook, serving in France during WWI.

The Brown family at
Lake-O-Springs in 1923. This photo is in a scrapbook that Terry
Brown gave to his wife Ruth Brown (nee Kimble) on their 25th anniversary, June 10, 1947.
L to R: Unknown, Kingsley Brown, Will Brown, Maude Brown (nee Jeffrey), Marion Brown, Ruth Brown (nee Kimble), Pauline Brown and Unknown.
The two "unknowns" are not part of the Brown family. There is
some thought that the man on the right may be Russ Rudy, the teacher at Roush
School but this is far from certain.

Will L. Brown posing
as a 'muscle man'. According to Will's daughter, Marion, as told
to her son, Mardon (the webmaster), Will was just 'fooling around' in this
picture and posing as a muscle man.

Will Lincoln Brown (b.22-SEP-1863 d.8-OCT-1959) was known as "Papa" by the
grandchildren. The "Oh hell!" was probably written on this photo by "Papa". It would
have been 'in tune' with his personality to have done so.

Will Lincoln
Brown is shown in this photo from around February, 1955, with his two favourite
'companions': one of his pipes and one of his 'home-made' walking canes.
This photo is very typical of how Will Brown looked in his later years.

'Fun Fotos' were
all taken on the same day at the same location. The first one is Pauline Kolp (nee Brown) & Marion Erbland (nee Brown).
Marion is wearing the hat. Below that is Ruth and Terry
Brown. They were married 10-JUN-1922. Ruth lived at the Fairmount
Children's Home on what is now Union Ave. NE in Washington Twp., Stark
County, until age five, when she went to live with the Kimble family from Pennsylvania.
She was then known as Ruth Kimble until she married Terry.
The image on the right is Donald Erbland, husband of Marion.

Terry Will Brown 1954,
preparing for one of his ‘artefact hunting’ expeditions. Terry and his friends used to use home-made metal detectors
(before such things were commercially available) to locate and recover old military artifacts such as canon balls. He also used to hunt for and
collect arrowheads. This was all done in the
years before it was realized that this sort of thing should be the prevue of
professional archaeologists, with government control on the artefacts.
